2010 Fight for Air Climb in Oklahoma City

May 8, 2010

First National Center
120 N Robinson Ave
Oklahoma City, OK 73102

Join us for one of the most unique events in Oklahoma City! This is more than your average 5k. This event takes people vertical as they attempt to climb many floors to reach the celebration at the top. Whether climbing for a winning time or simply to cross the finish line, this event is a great way to challenge yourself physically. We guarantee that all finishers will have a new found respect for their lungs as you climb the 29 flights of stairs in the First National Center building with us on May 8!

Our Work In Oklahoma City

Freedom from Smoking (FFS)

Last year, we trained 52 facilities that will be helping Oklahomans to quit using tobacco.

Open Airways for Schools (OAS)

This year, more than 35 schools are participating in OAS to help their students learn to manage their asthma.

Be Smart, Don’t Start

This school based program is a unique opportunity for youth to create and illustrate tobacco prevention messages. Winning ideas are used to create a 30 second television public service announcement (PSA) to teach others about the dangers of tobacco use. Over 2200 elementary students (K-5) have been reached with this tobacco prevention program.

Clean Air Partnership

Our partnership with Chesapeake Energy allows us to increase awareness about air quality in Oklahoma and impact our entire region.

OK Turning Point Tobacco Use Prevention Coalition

Through this important coalition, we have made a dramatic impact on a number of schools, businesses and communities by helping them implement 24/7 tobacco policies and ordinances.

OK Asthma Initiative

The Oklahoma Asthma Initiative works in four main areas to impact asthma: reduced number of asthma related deaths, hospitalizations and emergency room visits, school/work days missed and limitations on activity due to asthma.
